What bites in winter

Striped marlin are the winter fish in Cabo, with the best numbers from October to May. Wahoo peak in November and December, and dorado and yellowfin tuna keep biting into the winter. Mornings on the water can be cool in January and February, so bring a light jacket for the run out.

Questions Canadians ask

Are prices in US or Canadian dollars?

All our prices are in US dollars and are per boat, not per person. Half days start at $468, including captain and crew, tackle, bait, ice, water, dock fees, taxes and one fishing license.

What can we catch in winter?

November through April is striped marlin season in Cabo, with the best numbers from October to May. Wahoo peak in November and December, and dorado and yellowfin tuna are still caught through the winter, more in November and December than in February and March. Roosterfish are around inshore all year.

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes. Everyone 12 and older on the boat needs a Mexican sport fishing license, even if they don't fish. One is included in every charter and each extra one is $30. We take care of it.

How do we stay in touch from Canada?

Message the family on WhatsApp from any page. It works from Canada with no international calling, and we answer every day from 5 AM to 6 PM, Cabo time.

We stay for weeks. Can we fish more than once?

Yes. Many winter visitors book a half day early in their stay and come back for a full day when the fish are biting. Add several days in one booking request and we confirm them together.
