Fishing on your Cabo port day

Your ship anchors in the bay and the tender drops you inside the Cabo San Lucas marina. Our boats leave from that same marina. Book a private half day, tell us your ship, and we'll have you back with time to spare.

Ships calling at Cabo San Lucas in November 2026, from the port's published schedule, with the 5-hour half day that fits your time ashore: about an hour after your ship arrives, and back at the marina at least 90 minutes before it sails. Schedules can change, so always check the times with your ship.

How it works

  1. Choose a boat and your port date and pick Half day. It's our regular half day, about 5 hours, at the regular price. A private boat for your group, not a shared excursion.
  2. In the notes, write your ship, the time you expect to be ashore and the "all aboard" time. We prefill the notes for you when you book from this page.
  3. We confirm. If a boat is free for your time, the family confirms it and sends the meeting point in the marina and the crew's contact.
  4. Walk off the tender and go fishing. No taxi, no transfer. You're back at the marina with time for lunch or a walk before your tender back.

What it costs

Prices are per boat, not per person. A half day starts at $468 and goes up with the size of the boat; we take up to 12 people on one boat. Every charter includes captain and crew, rods and tackle, bait (live when available), ice, bottled water, dock fees, taxes and one fishing license. Everyone 12 and older on the boat needs a Mexican fishing license ($30 each). See every boat and its price.

Splitting a boat with friends from the ship is usually cheaper per person than a shared fishing excursion, and you choose the boat.

What to bring

  • Your ship card and ID; you'll need them to get back on the tender
  • Reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses
  • Shoes with non-marking soles that can get wet
  • Seasickness medicine if you need it, taken before you leave the ship
  • Cash or card for the crew's tip

Rods, tackle, bait, ice and bottled water are on the boat. Before your trip, check the free Cabo Bite Map for water temperature and the latest catches.

Questions cruise guests ask

Will I make it back to the ship in time?

Tell us your ship and its "all aboard" time when you book. A half day is about 5 hours, and the captain plans the trip around your ship's schedule so you're back at the marina with time to spare. If your port day is too short for a 5-hour trip, we'll tell you before we confirm.

Where do we meet the boat?

Cruise ships in Cabo San Lucas anchor in the bay, and the tender boats bring passengers into the marina. Our boats leave from that same marina, so there's no taxi or long transfer. We send the exact meeting point and the crew's contact with your confirmation.

What time does the boat leave?

Find your ship above: we suggest a departure about an hour after it arrives, so you have time to take the tender in, and we have you back at least 90 minutes before it sails. On cruise days our latest half-day departure is 1:00 PM, back at the marina around 6:00 PM. If your ship isn't listed, write your ship and its times in the notes and we confirm the exact departure once a boat is free.

How much does it cost?

The price is per boat, not per person: half days start at $468 and include captain and crew, rods and tackle, bait, ice, bottled water, dock fees, taxes and one fishing license. Everyone 12 and older on the boat needs a license ($30 each, one included). Tips for the crew are not included; 10–20% is customary.

Can I do a full day?

On a port day we only offer the half day, so you have a comfortable margin to get back to your ship.

What can we catch?

It depends on the season: striped marlin in winter and spring, dorado in late summer and fall, plus tuna, wahoo and roosterfish at different times of year. The captain takes you where the fish are that week. Check the Cabo Bite Map before your trip to see the water and the latest reports.

Can I take my fish back to the ship?

No, cruise ships generally don't let passengers bring fish aboard. Most cruise guests release their fish, and several restaurants near the marina will cook your catch for lunch the same day. We encourage releasing all billfish.
