Which boat, when?
The season decides what bites. Here is what we recommend.
Striped marlin peak
The water cools to the low 70s °F and striped marlin school within miles of shore. Wahoo peak in December, and tuna and dorado are around too. Half-day trips produce well because the fish are close.
Mid-size offshore boats, from $824.
Striped marlin & roosterfish
Striped marlin are still at their best, roosterfish get very active inshore, and sierra and yellowtail finish their season.

Blue marlin & dorado peak
Water tops 80 °F. Yellowfin are at their best from June; from July blue marlin, then black marlin, dorado and sailfish peak through August and September. This is when Cabo produces grander marlin.

Tournament season
October is tournament month, including Bisbee's Black & Blue. Blue and striped marlin, tuna, wahoo and dorado overlap: the best multi-species season. Book early.

Questions
How do I choose the right boat?
Think about group size, target species and budget. For 1–3 anglers fishing inshore, a panga is ideal. For offshore marlin and tuna, a 28–35 foot sportfisher covers every species. For big groups or a luxury day, look at the 40-foot and larger boats. Tell us what you want and we will recommend one.
Half day or full day?
A half day is about 5 hours and a full day about 8. Half days suit inshore fishing and families with young kids; full days leave time to reach the offshore grounds for marlin, tuna, dorado and wahoo.
Why does the price change with my group?
Prices include one Mexican fishing license. Everyone aboard 12 and older needs one, so each extra license adds $30. Kids under 12 don't need one.
