Top Anglers is not a booking platform. We are a family-owned charter company that has been operating out of Marina Principal in Cabo San Lucas for over two decades. When you book with us, you are dealing directly with the people who own and operate the boats.
Our captains compete at the highest level of international sport fishing. The Vargas family has organized a CIPS-M Big Game World Championship and the 2024 German National Championship. At the 33rd Big Game World Championship in France, founder Victor Vargas captained a team that placed first on two of three fishing days. Top Anglers has competed in multiple Bisbee’s Black & Blue tournaments, and the crew of our 45’ CABO Express won the 2025 edition. That caliber of experience is on every charter.

We operate from Marina Principal in the heart of Cabo San Lucas — walking distance from downtown hotels and just minutes from the famous El Arco arch. If you're staying along the Tourist Corridor between Cabo and San José del Cabo (Hilton, Hyatt Ziva, Waldorf Astoria, Grand Velas), we're a quick 15–30 minute drive. Most charters depart between 6:00 and 7:00 AM — we recommend arriving 15 minutes early.

PEAK: OCTOBER — APRIL
Cabo's signature gamefish and one of the most thrilling catches in the Pacific. Aggressive feeders that put on an aerial show. Catch-and-release encouraged for conservation.
PEAK: JUNE - NOVEMBER
The apex predators of offshore fishing. Blues regularly exceed 300 pounds in these waters. The summer months bring the biggest fish and the most legendary battles.

Hard-fighting and delicious. Yellowfin in Cabo regularly run 30 to 100+ pounds. Excellent for anglers who want to keep their catch for dinner — fresh sashimi on the dock is a Cabo tradition.

Dazzling colors, acrobatic fights, and incredible table fare. Dorado are one of the most fun species to catch on light tackle and are abundant throughout the summer.

The speedsters of the ocean. Can hit 60 mph in a sprint. Short but intense season makes them a prized catch. Their firm white flesh is considered one of the finest eating fish in the sea.
